Want to add yourself or a group to the EchoX community listing?
Community resource listings will grow organically as you and others are added! If you’re involved with community work related to EchoX themes – ethnic cultural heritage and social action – click ‘Sign Up’ in the upper right corner and add your own page to the Directory for free!

After clicking ‘Sign Up’ you will be taken to a form to fill out to create your account. Once you open your account, you’ll have ongoing access to an EchoX backend template where you may provide any information you want others to see. You can also add your own events to the calendar with details and artwork.

Send the EchoX link to your own supporters. Site visitors will learn more about you, your work and your events!

In 1977 a group of students of Mexican ancestry who identified as Chicana/os in recognition of their unique social, cultural and political identities joined forces with a Chicano Art Professor, Rubén Trejo, to establish the Chicano Education Program. Since its creation, this program has served as an academic and community center for students and their families. Today, the Chicana/o/x Studies Program, as is known, provides services for students of all backgrounds: Chicanx, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latinx, immigrant, migrant, Caribbean, Central American, South American, non-Latinx, and beyond. Our program offers academic and non-academic support services both in English and Spanish, such as advising, peer mentorship, and tutoring opportunities, culturally relevant events, scholarship information, and a home away from home. Welcome to your space! (Bienvenidos!)

Roots and Beats Project fosters positive youth development through media arts education and cultural engagement. Our curriculum merges tradition and technology to weave culturally-rooted digital storytelling focusing on immigrant, refugee and ethnic diaspora experience. We work in partnership with local nonprofits and schools to provide music and multimedia workshops at no cost to underserved youth ages 12-21 years old.

We strive to make our curriculum culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and bilingual, aspects crucial to meet our students where they are. Our work is informed by a belief that when young people feel safe expressing themselves creatively, embracing cultural diversity, and bonding with adult mentors, it unlocks great potential for the development of wide-ranging skills and competencies towards becoming future community leaders.
