Movimiento Afrolatino Seattle (MÁS) is a grass-root 501(c)3 non-profit organization created by Afrolatino communities and artists that appreciate Afrolatino arts and culture coming together to ensure the sustainability of ongoing cultural and education arts activities focused on Afrolatinos and open to anyone who is interested ininterested in learning and preserving this rich cultural heritage.

International Children’s Friendship Festival is an event that is run by children and features performances by children. Various nationalities are represented through music, folk dancing and art. The children celebrate their international friendship through experiencing the rich tapestry of the world’s cultures.

Fort Nisqually, the first globally connected settlement on the Puget Sound, was established in 1833 by the Hudson’s Bay Company as a fur trading outpost. The decline of the fur trade meant that Fort Nisqually’s focus shifted to commercial agricultural enterprises with the establishment of the Puget Sound Agricultural Company (PSAC) in 1839. Based at Fort Nisqually, the PSAC raised cattle, sheep, and horses along with crops such as wheat, barley, oats, and peas across the 160,000 acres claimed by the company. By 1855, the date the museum portrays, this British establishment was surrounded by American territory and faced increasing pressure from settlers who wanted the farmable land for their own use. The Hudson’s Bay Company sold its holdings to the United States government, withdrawing from Washington Territory in 1869, and Fort Nisqually became the homestead of the last manager, Edward Huggins.

Fort Nisqually was originally located in what is now DuPont, WA. The Fort you see today was reconstructed in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Civic-minded citizens preserved and donated two of the original structures, the Factor’s House and Granary, to the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma. The museum gives residents and visitors a chance to experience what life was like on Puget Sound in 1855.

Spectrum Dance Theater (SDT) was founded in 1982 to bring dance of the highest merit to a diverse audience composed of people from different social, cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds.

King Khazm has been a formative force in the Seattle Hip Hop scene for years, and his momentum as an artist, activist, educator, promoter and community leader has only grown since he co-founded MAD Krew in 1995, a Hip Hop crew that quickly evolved into an influential multimedia production company.

The Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center of the University of Washington is part of The Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity. The Kelly ECC has a wealth of resources and opportunities available to students including student advising, organizational development, personal growth, and referrals to different departments and programs.

Early Music Seattle is the area’s largest presenter of early music and related educational programs. Its mainstage events include Seattle Baroque Orchestra and internationally-renowned touring artists at venues around the Puget Sound region including Nordstrom Recital Hall, Seattle First Baptist Church, St. James Cathedral, and Bastyr University Chapel.

We are passionate parents who have children with developmental disabilities, professionals who care about people with disabilities and valued community volunteers. We founded this Organization in June 2009 after more than a decade’s collaboration on projects specifically designed for serving and supporting multicultural families with family members with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.

A non-profit and non-political institute founded by a group of professionals, technologists, educators, parents, and youth in the Greater Seattle Area to prepare the underserved immigrant youth in the community for success in multimedia technology.

The Nepantla Cultural Arts Gallery is a multi-use space, hosting art exhibitions, workshops, gift shop, as well as a space for cultural events.

Festál is a free series of annual ethnically-related festivals that take place on the grounds of Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington. A major cultural program of Seattle, these festivals aim to celebrate and connect the city to its varied ethnic and international community. Most festivals contain various arts performances (dances, theatre, musical ensembles, films), dances, marketplace and other programs. These have also come to be the annual gathering place for ethnic groups of the community. Both older and younger people attend, especially the dances and musical concerts.
