Shelton, WA Officially founded in 1982, the West Coast Latvian Education Center (WCLEC), or, as it is known in Latvian, the Rietumkrasta Latviešu Izglītības Centrs (RKLIC), is an educational and cultural nonprofit. The West Coast Latvian Education Center’s purpose, and its mission, is to foster, promote, and organize educational and cultural events for all individuals of Latvian ancestry or affinity. It is in Shelton, Washington, in our home nestled in the woods, that the West Coast Latvian Education Center strives to give voice to our rich culture and traditions.

Bainbridge Island, WA The genesis of the Indipino Community of Bainbridge Island began when thirty-six Indigenous women from nineteen different tribes in Canada, Washington State and Alaska migrated to Bainbridge Island, Washington to pick berries for Japanese American farmers in late 1930s and early 1940s. There they met and married young Filipino immigrant bachelors and settled on the Puget Sound Island located in the traditional territory of the Suquamish people.

Mount Vernon, WA Mount Vernon School District Mariachi & Folklorico is the biggest Mariachi Program in western Washington with over 100 students. We believe that Mariachi music will live forever in our community through our performances. MV Mariachi has performed at dozens of events and festivals all over Washington State. Mount Vernon School District recently hired Director Ramon Rivera who has expanded the program to include two Folklorico Classes and four high school Mariachi Classes. We are excited to see how our program continues to expand!
