Portland, OR The members of New Sweden community are coming together to preserve, communicate, document, and celebrate the Swedish culture and heritage through cultural events, newsletters, and articles. Our organization is inclusive and its members come from a variety of backgrounds some were born and raised in Sweden, some have Swedish heritage, and some have no direct connection to Sweden besides an appreciation of the culture.

Wilmette, IL Danish Brotherhood Lodge #29 based in Seattle is a member of the National Foundation for Danish America (NFDA), which was formed in 2019 with the goal of strengthening cooperation among Danish American organizations and ties between Denmark (or Danish Culture) AND persons who have a special interest or relationship with Denmark. There are approximately 1.5 Million Americans who claim at least partial Danish heritage, and call themselves “Danish Americans”. We aim to provide opportunities for Danish Americans and their clubs and organizations to network, coordinate, share and collaborate in order to preserve and promote Danish culture and heritage in America.

Clarksville, MD The Association on American Indian Affairs is the oldest non-profit serving Indian Country protecting sovereignty, preserving culture, educating youth and building capacity. The Association was formed in 1922 to change the destructive path of federal policy from assimilation, termination and allotment, to sovereignty, self-determination and self-sufficiency. Throughout its 100-year history, the Association has provided national advocacy on watershed issues that support sovereignty and culture, while working on the ground at a grassroots level with Tribes to support the implementation of programs that affect lives on the ground.
