Idaho Falls 2023 Day of Remembrance
On February 19th, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed executive order 9066, creating one of the most infamous civil rights events in the United States’ history. these actions drove over 120,000 people, of which approximately 73,000 were United States citizens, into concentration camps on the U.S. Soil. The Day of a Remembrance is held each year to acknowledge the unjust devastation of Japanese descent suffered as a result of civil rights attack from the United States government and a way to remind us “never again”.
