Winter Indigiqueer Celebration
Join Spectrum Center on December 15th from 4-7pm at the SPL Central Library in nxʷyxʷyetkʷ Hall (“inn-whi-whi-ettk”) for our Winter Indigiqueer Celebration! The event is free, open to the public, and a great chance to join in community to celebrate Indigiqueer and Two-Spirit identities. An Indigenous Creatives Market will run for the entire event, and is a great chance to pick up holiday gifts and financially support indigenous creatives.
From 5pm to 6pm, there will be a round dance provided by UNYO Urban Native Youth Organization, Indigenous language learning classes from language keepers in our region, and a premier of a short film about being Two-Spirit produced by Spectrum Center. Finally, we will close out the event with an Open Mic from 6pm-7pm highlighting 2s/ Indigiqueer stories and perspectives of all mediums.
