Together you will curate articles and communicate stories highlighting the diverse voices of ethnic and cultural communities in the Pacific Northwest.

The Marketing and Communications Director is a key position in the Development & Marketing Department and is responsible for building and executing the marketing strategy for the Agency. This includes building awareness in the community to ensure JFS is raising the funds required to meet the needs of our clients and creating awareness of our services to potential clients. This role requires a strong storytelling ability – someone who can connect dots and ideas to tell a powerful and compelling narrative in a range of mediums including events (whether online or in-person), editorial, and social media. Executive and internal communications are also a core component of this job. As Director of Communications and Marketing, you must be a thought partner to our CEO and find creative and impactful ways to amplify the CEOs voice.

In this role, you will be working with an extremely passionate and motivated team. You will also be a member of the Agency’s Executive team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and executes the Agency’s marketing and communications strategy to achieve its mission and goals, and then partners with key stakeholders to execute the plans.
  • Works within the Development & Marketing team to meet donor stewardship and revenue goals.
  • Creates materials and messaging that builds awareness about JFS services and enhances outreach to potential clients.
  • Supports and partners with the CEO on executive communications.
  • Collaborates with Executive team on internal communications.
  • Supports special events and external audience engagement for the Development staff, the Outreach & Education team, and sometimes program staff.
  • Plan and produces marketing and communications materials, including advertising, print and electronic newsletters, and program collateral.
  • Ensures that the brand identity of the Agency is cohesive across departments and events.
  • Develops and executes the public relations plan.
  • Oversees design and creation of the website and all digital communication across channels.
  • Has final approval on vendor and advertising contracts.
  • Manages the marketing and communications budget.
  • Manages the Marketing Manager and the Web Developer and truly engages them in the work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in related field.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to lead and mentor staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing a departmental budget.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to inspire collaboration to achieve goals.
  • Ability to lead and take direction, be flexible, work independently, think creatively, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Jewish community and culture strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Asana or other project management software a plus.

Jewish Family Service is seeking an Employment Case Manager in the Refugee & Immigrant Services program. This full-time (37.5 hours/week) position provides case management services critical to refugee and immigrant clients’ economic stability. The position will work one-on-one with clients to identify and overcome barriers to employment and financial asset building, focusing on long term career planning and advancement.

The position is based at the JFS’ Kent office, but will have responsibilities throughout Puget Sound. Travel will be required to meetings in the community, medical and social service facilities, and employment appointments.  Regular and punctual attendance with occasional overtime is required, as well as some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a strengths-based individualized career plan with clients, identifying and managing towards short and long term goals.
  • Provide case management that supports stable employment including obtaining/maintaining refugee benefits, addressing routine medical needs, ESL enrollment, transportation support, and assistance with childcare enrollment.
  • Provide ongoing job readiness orientations needed to secure, retain and advance in employment, including interview skills, workplace culture and expectations, and industry-specific skills.
  • Identify asset building goals with clients. Develop realistic plans based on goals. Connect clients to financial institutions and asset building agencies as appropriate.
  • Assist clients in accessing suitable trainings, work experience opportunities, and educational institutions to create entry points into appropriate career pathways.
  • Assess and record client progress towards goals of career plan.
  • Maintain information on community resources and develop relationships with other providers and professionals, as needed.
  • Conduct professional communication and professional networking skills workshops at local partner agencies, community-based organizations and in the Kent office.
  • Support clients through professional mentorship opportunities ensuring ongoing professional support from volunteer mentor.
  • Provide ongoing household budgeting support and teach clients skills needed to build a realistic budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within field.
  • Experience working with other cultures and ability to effectively communicate with people who speak English as a second language.
  • Case management/employment placement experience a plus.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable access to personal vehicle as well as ability to drive agency vehicles required.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and systems in social service support programs.

The Relationship Manager is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position and reports to the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships. This is a new position based in our Seattle office but due to COVID, will mostly be working remotely for the time being.

The Relationship Manager will increase Potlatch Fund’s donor organizing, fundraising, and grantmaking by supporting the organization’s fundraising efforts. The Relationship Manager will work closely with the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships and other staff to help steward major donors, organize events, do one-on-one fundraising, and create and implement strategies for donor acquisition and long-term retention.

This is an exciting time to join the Development team of Potlatch Fund. With our grantmaking program and other Potlatch Fund initiatives, we now have the challenge of turning new donors into long-term supporters who have an authentic relationship to our organization and a deep commitment to our work. The Relationship Manager will play a critical role in building the sustainability for our organization.

We envision our staff as a fully collaborative team in service to our mission. The Relationship Manager will play an integral role in serving our community members and grantees; a special emphasis will be placed on managing a group of assigned mid-level and major donors, assuring that as many as possible are retained as continuing donors to the organization and are upgraded in their giving and involvement, while also building relationships with new major donor prospects.

The TAF Extended Learning Coordinator plays an integral role within the school by serving as a key driver in stakeholder engagement at Washington Middle School.  There are three key priority areas that the Extended Learning Coordinator will support: Student Engagement, Community Engagement, and Family Engagement.

Additionally, the Extended Learning Coordinator works with Program Managers at Washington Middle School to identify and execute STEM-related field trips, career connected learning, college campus tours, and other out of classroom learning experiences throughout the school year.

The TAF@Saghalie Student Support Specialist plays an integral role within the school by providing in-class, small group, and individual instruction in math and other academic skills to students. The Maker Space Specialist role at Washington Middle School is multifaceted involving both Maker skills and lesson planning and instruction. Works in partnership with teachers in the classroom. The number one way to get fully involved in the community is to volunteer as a tutor/mentor at one of our after school programs!
Our after school programs assist students in grades 1 through 12 in improving their academic skills and building ties to their communities. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to mentor students, be a role model, and teach good study habits.

We have TWO locations where we are running an after school program – at the Rainier Vista Neighborhood House, and at the New Holly Campus. Volunteers to the Rainier Vista Neighborhood House program serve from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, and volunteers at the New Holly Campus program serve from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
