India’s festival of lights will shine bright in Microsoft Commons on Oct 28 between 6:00 – 10:00 PM. Diwali takes center stage on Oct. 28 in a full evening celebration featuring food, live band, dj, dance, music, henna & cultural activities to create a grand celebration. It’s time to take out grand Indian dresses and most important feeling of celebration of festival. We have planned a great line up for entertainment with live music and dance. The mission of the Grand Ball Diwali -Festival of Lights is to celebrate Indian culture and traditions by featuring Indian dance, music, food in grand style and make it look classy & elite. Diwali gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness. In India, the Diwali celebration is akin to Christmas and it represents the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance.
