AACCES has teamed up with Washington State University Tri-Cities for an oral histories project. Many of the oral histories are of African Americans who worked at Hanford during the Manhattan project. AACCES understands the importance of preserving the history of these African Americans and to highlight their legacy of culture in the mid-Columbia. These African Americans who mostly migrated from the South to work, left a rich scientific, business, education and social culture behind. It is imperative that the history of their achievements be preserved.
