Mission: We play a vital role in providing safety-net services—food, shelter, warmth and financial tools—to Seattle residents in need. At the same time, we capitalize on our deep knowledge of our community as we work to effect systemic change. As an important part of these efforts, Byrd Barr Place leads the Seattle Community of Practice, a collaboration of community organizations working to address specific challenges and opportunities for African Americans, including access to and quality of education, housing, jobs and health care.
