Casa Latinos Unidos was founded in 2009 as a community-based 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. We provide services to people residing in Benton and Linn Counties. Although there are other agencies that provide services to Latinos, Casa Latinos Unidos is the only community-based organization that is culturally-specific in both counties. We provide free or low-cost basic needs services and culturally-specific programs exclusively to the Latino and Latinx community.
We have three programmatic areas: Community and Culture, Leadership and Civic Engagement, and Direct Services. Within the Community and Culture programmatic area, we offer performing arts activities, family outings and gatherings to share our experiences, heritage, and culture. Within the Leadership and Advocacy programmatic area, we have the Know Your Rights Events, the Madres sin Temor, Sin Miedo (Mothers Without Fear) Support Group, leadership training, citizenship classes, and partnerships with city government, school districts, and other CBO’s to get people involved in leadership. Lastly, under the Direct Services programmatic area, we have the Basic Needs program, whose main areas are to provide assistance to people through resource navigation such as housing and legal resources, offer interpreting/translations, form-filling, and healthcare resources. Some examples of this program are our partnership with We Care and Community Services Consortium to provide financial assistance to families during emergency situations and our close relationship with the Linn-Benton Health Equity Alliance, the Benton County Health Department and the Linn County Department of Health Services to provide wraparound support.
