Summary: Chewelah is a small, rural community 45 miles north of Spokane. It became Washington’s second Creative District in June 2019. With over 111 days of events throughout the year, Chewelah truly is “Your Place for all Seasons.”

Mission: The Chewelah Creative District will focus on creating a rich cultural environment for local citizens. It will encourage the growth and sustainability of local businesses. It will provide a fun and engaging experience for all visitors.

Chewelah is a regional hub for culture, recreation and history. Attractions include:

a microbrewery, eateries, a bakery and a variety of shopping choices
a performing arts center, a gallery
a large park with a creek running through it
a museum, a Historical Walk
an award-winning Farmer’s Market
Chewelah Chataqua, an annual arts and music fest in July that draws over 40,000
49 North Ski & Snowboard Resort is 10 miles east of Chewelah
