Summary: DBE/Daughters of the British Empire is a national, not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable and philanthropic women’s organization.
Mission: Daughters of the British Empire is committed to raising funds to help support our four British retirement homes in the USA and also to support local charities as permitted by IRS regulations which govern the distribution of donations received. We also strive to foster friendships amongst English-speaking peoples.

DBE is organized into four Districts with a DBE-supported retirement home in each one. In each District there are State Boards and within the State Boards are the local Chapters.

The motto of DBE reflects the active role of members in charitable activities:

“Not ourselves but the cause.”
