The Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) was founded by Dorothy and Fred Cordova on November 26, 1982 and chartered by the State of Washington on January 7, 1985. From Alaska to Virginia, FANHS chapters work “to promote understanding, education, enlightenment, appreciation, and enrichment through the identification, gathering, preservation, and dissemination of the history and culture of Filipino Americans” in their own regions. The Greater Seattle Chapter joined the ranks on June 27, 1990. It was reconstituted as an institute with National Office for special assignments. On February 27, 2013, FANHS Seattle re-established itself as a chapter. Officers were elected on May 25, 2013 and projects are currently underway. For more information, visit Projects and Events.
