Summary: The Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington (FCHSW) proudly presents Pagdiriwang, commemorating the anniversary of Philippine Independence. Held on the first or second week of June at the Seattle Center since 1987, the event has grown into the largest festival of Filipino arts and culture in the Pacific Northwest. This celebration is a part of Seattle Center Festál, a series of cultural programs sponsored by the City of Seattle. Pagdiriwang provides a venue for Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike to learn about the culture. It is an ideal setting for presenting art, craft, song, dance, music, history, literature, and culture to promote better understanding of the Filipino cultural heritage.
Mission: The Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington (FCHSW) is a non-profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers. It is committed to nurturing and proudly expressing the finest and all that is beautiful and enduring in the Filipino. Its primary objective is to perpetuate, educate and share the Filipino culture and heritage with the people of Washington through music, dance, arts, history, literature, and crafts.

The Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washingotn (FCHSW), producer of the annual Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival, which is is one of the more than 22 art and culture festivals under the Festal Program of the Seattle Center. The FCHSW focuses on the various forms of art to present at the annual festival, such as, visual, performing, photography, culinary, literary, and musical. The organization encourages various age groups to be involved in the production of the annual Pagdiriwang. FCHSW has made its art exhibit more robust every year and it invites award-winning visual artists from Manila, as well as from within the Puget Sound region. Every year, FCHSW makes sure to add more events to the annual festival, such as, photography exhibit, film festival, children’s art exhibit, and food demonstrations.
