The Kenai Art Center is situated on land that was originally the Territorial School Property, constructed in the early 1900’s. The present building was built in 1955 to be used as the city’s first fire hall. The building was leased to the Kenai Arts & Humanities Council is 1972 and has been in use ever since. Over the years, the organization has gone by many names, including the Kenai Art Guild, Peninsula Art Guild, and Kenai Fine Art Center. To keep things simple and clear, today we are simply called the Kenai Art Center. We think it best sums up who we are and what we do: exhibitions, workshops, events, and all things art in Kenai.
