The McConnell Mansion was built in 1886 for the William McConnell family. Mr. McConnell became the third governor of Idaho in the 1890s and moved his family to Boise. The Adair family then purchased the home and raised four daughters there. It was owned by one other family before being purchased by Dr. Frederick Church in the 1940s. Dr. Church donated the home to Latah County upon his death in the 1960s.
