Mission: Discovery, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Pacific County and the state of Washington, for the entire public through a museum, publications, public programs, and public participation.

Our collection include photos, archival materials, published historical volumes and historical and natural history objects. Collecting areas include natural history, local Indian history, transportation, natural resources, communities, maritime and cultural history. Research by our staff is free to members. There is a fee for nonmembers (See Research). Requests are processed as time allows by our limited staff. Appointments are strongly recommended to provide the best service.

Resources available without an appointment include Federal Census indexes from 1860-1910, an index to newspapers, and the index to THE SOU’WESTER. Learn through our exhibits, explore unique materials and artifacts, and research your past. The Museum provides a Bookstore that emphasizes Washington and local history, travel books for the Northwest, and Northwest flora and fauna guide books. There is a small selection of local products. Members receive a 10% discount on purchases.
