Ragamala was established in 1981 as a registered 501-3(c) organization non-profit organization with the mission of advancing the traditional performing arts of South Asia through exceptional programming. Since then, it has presented hundreds of concerts featuring many great names of our era. In addition, it has been serving the greater Seattle area through various outreach activities, including workshops, lecture-demonstrations, and community events. Ragamala is also a community partner and supports many local organizations through outreach and co-sponsorship of events. Ragamala is 100% volunteer driven, and is fueled by the energy of a community passionate about the music and culture of the Indian subcontinent.
