Summary: The Squaxin Island Tribe’s Museum Library and Research Center features exhibits and rare artifacts that tell the unique story of the people who have lived and prospered along the shores of the inland Salish Sea for untold centuries. Come and learn about South Puget Sound from the perspective of those who know it best.
Mission: The Squaxin Museum preserves the culture, identity and traditions of the Squaxin Island Tribe through revitalization programs in a return to our role throughout the Squaxin Island Tribe’s usual and accustomed territories (Purdy, Allyn, Shelton, Steamboat Island, Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey), … in place since time immemorial.
