Grand Opening of the Entrepreneurship Community & Cultural Office (ECCO)
January 20, 2024
This event marks a significant milestone in the growth and commitment of the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) to fostering entrepreneurship and bolstering small business growth within the King County service area. Over the past three years, ULMS has tirelessly supported Black and People of Color owned businesses, making a substantial impact in the community.
In 2022, ULMS initiated a dedicated entrepreneurial arm, led by the visionary Entrepreneurship Director, Deionte Petty. In just 18 months, this department has witnessed remarkable growth. The launch of the Entrepreneurship Center in south Seattle is a testament to this success, aiming to act as a sanctuary for aspiring and established entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on empowering individuals from Black and Indigenous communities of color.
ULMS is dedicated to entrepreneurial excellence, providing a comprehensive suite of offerings that ensure businesses not only commence but flourish, contributing to the community’s vibrancy and economic vitality. Join us in celebrating this momentous occasion and the beginning of a new era in entrepreneurship support. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of this transformative movement!

As the second-oldest civil rights organization in the state of Washington, ULMS is one of the region’s essential economic first responders, helping families cope with challenges through a variety of programs designed to support and encourage self-sufficiency in all aspects of life. ULMS also serves as a liaison between community members, local businesses, city and county government, and other service based organizations that share our concern for the welfare of the Black community and other disadvantaged residents in the Greater Puget Sound area.
