On Saturday and Sunday August 9th & 10th, Girlvolution by Powerful Voices is taking over the iconic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. This social justice celebration is brought to you by the Youth Engagement Board – a group of seven youth leaders on a mission to create a gathering for young people to nurture their roots, freely express themselves, and build a community of powerful youth leaders. Girlvolution weaves BIPOC youth and community leaders working across arts, culture, healing, and activism to bring you an experience you won’t forget! We’ll have creative workshops, intergenerational panels, cultural foods, a multicultural performer and art showcase, healing activities, a clothing closet, lower sensory offerings, community resources, youth vendors, activists, and more! As always, Girlvolution centers BIPOC girls & gender expansive youth and is open to all!
