Portland Hip Hop Day was founded in 2015 to address concerns and conflicts between the city’s Hip Hop scene and various agencies. The primary aim was to bring together divided communities through the platform of Hip Hop. The collaboration between the city and the Hip Hop community has led to successful annual events. In 2018, Hip Hop Day was extended to a week-long celebration from August 20th to August 26th. Our goal is to UNIFY, AMPLIFY, EDUCATE, & ELEVATE the Hip Hop culture.
