Mission: To provide to individuals, from any background, the wisdom of Vedanta and practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become a positive contributor to the society

Seattle, Washington was blessed with Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s visit in the 1980s, and Chinmaya Mission (CM) presence in the community has been in existence since then. However, it was not until October 2004 that weekly Chinmaya Bala Vihar and Adult Study Group classes were actively conducted, formal membership was introduced, and Chinmaya Mission Seattle became an official unincorporated CMW center. These changes came through the inspiration and service of Ranga and Anuradha Pottabathni, who moved from Princeton, NJ to Seattle in 2003. Soon, a three-day Gita (Ch.12) Jnana Yajna by Swami Shantananda was organized at the Pottabathnis’ residence in 2004. It was during this visit that Swamiji blessed CM Seattle sevaks and sevikas and officially inaugurated Bala Vihar (BV) and Study Group classes in Seattle.
We have steadily grown over the years and serve the cities of Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, Issaquah, Sammamish, Everett and the surrounding communities. We would love for you to join us as a member or as a Sevak (volunteer) – and help grow this mission. You will find a warm welcoming atmosphere, where we all learn together, work together and inspire each other in this spiritual journey.
