African

Is to be the home for all African community organizations in Washington state. We are the place for collaboration and nurturing strong community voices. Our 26+ member organizations have a platform here for sharing information, resources, and ideas to better serve our communities. 1 – We strive to increase civic engagement through advocacy. 2- We are committed to fostering economic empowerment. 3 – We increase 2020 US Census awareness and drive voter registration. 5 – We maintain a healthy relationship with our funders.
Too often in public education, the voices of youth are excluded and the response to racism is little to no action. No longer. N-YC unites anti-racist youth across Washington into one coalition that demands a seat at the table. As Shirley Chisholm once said, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” We are youth with representation at dozens of schools across several districts — with loads of folding chairs. It’s time not just for the youth to be at the table but for anti-racism to be at the top of the agenda.
A fun-filled four-day weekend of concerts, workshops, community conversations, a marketplace and more, Zimfest is the largest annual gathering in North America of students, teachers, performers, and fans of Zimbabwean music.
