Since 1889, the Norwegian-American community of Seattle has celebrated the 17th of May, and has become one of the largest celebrations outside of Oslo and Bergen.
The ABC German School offers Preschool (ages 2-5), Bilingual Kindergarten (ages 5-6), After-School language classes (ages 5-18) and German language evening classes.
Dedicated to building intercultural understanding through collaboration, Abráce is named for the Spanish and Portuguese word for “embrace”. Abráce sings in 20 languages and strives to represent the music they perform with integrity and respect for tradition, while also taking care to breathe life into each piece from their own diverse cultural and faith backgrounds. Ten years ago, two singers Samia Panni and Joyce Yarrow, discovered first-hand what it is like to collaborate across cultures and explore the power of music to celebrate diversity. Soon after, percussionists Denny Stern and Jeff Busch joined the group, along with vocalists Rebeqa Rivers, singer/actress Angie Bolton, and finally the versatile singer, musician and songwriter, Mikaela Romero.
The Alaskan Scottish Club is a non-profit organization established to promote the Scottish culture, heritage, and teachings to the people of Alaska. We achieve this through events, workshops, concerts and other social gatherings in Alaska.
As a little boy, I loved stories and music, not much has changed in 60 + years. Now as a grandpa, I tell stories, sings songs and create puppet routines. Most of my work is with children. For over 45 years, I have been involved as an educator, and performer. I also do teacher’s workshops.

The Alliance Française de Seattle is a dynamic educational and cultural 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Washington since 1987, whose mission is to promote the French language and Francophone cultures through diverse programs in the Puget Sound area. It is part of an international network of Alliances Françaises—832 in 131 countries, and 105 of them in 2021 in the USA alone.
ALMA VILLEGAS brings over 25 years of experience facilitating efforts founded on social justice and equity. She has a long track record in organizational development in the private and public sector including policy, program and evaluation. A seasoned equity advisor and community engagement professional, she has worked collaboratively on a broad range of projects conducting equity assessments and strategic planning, providing one-on-one and group equity coaching and mentorship, facilitating dialogues that are grounded in safe space principles and racial equity, and developing media and social networking platforms for multi-lingual and multi-cultural communities.
