Since 1891, we have grown from a single reading room in Pioneer Square to a world-class Library system with 27 locations. Learn more about us, our contributions to the city and how you can support our work.
The Seattle Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) is a citywide effort to end institutionalized racism and race-based disparities in City government. RSJI builds on the work of the civil rights movement and the ongoing efforts of individuals and groups in Seattle to confront racism. The Initiative’s long term goal is to change the underlying system that creates race-based disparities in our community and to achieve racial equity.
The first local parenting publication of its kind, Seattle’s Child is published monthly and is available around the community for free. We maintain a rich website full of events, information on schools, health issues and more. Our calendar of events can be filtered based on age of kids, cost, location, date, and more. We also provide an e-newsletter with updates and giveaways, and a subscription-based service for at-your-door delivery of the monthly magazine.
