Southern African

The African Children’s Choir was founded in 1984 by Ray Barnett. The Choir is made up of children from some of Africa’s poorest communities. Since 1984, the Choir has traveled around the world showing the world the beauty, dignity and unlimited ability of the African Child. The Choir raises funds that currently support around 1,500 children, providing them with care and an education.
The Association of Zambians in Seattle, Washington (AZISWA) was founded on January 22, 2006 in Seattle by Zambians living in the Puget Sound Region of Washington. AZISWA is a fully-registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in accordance with the US Federal non-profit corporation code. AZISWA Membership is open to all area residents interested in the well being and development of Zambia as well as the welfare of Zambians in the Puget Sound Region.
The Malawi Seattle Association (MSA) comprises people of Malawian origin as well as those that are Malawian at heart who have come to make their home in the State of Washington. The Association serves to promote the welfare of its members so that they can reach their full potential in their endeavors.
A fun-filled four-day weekend of concerts, workshops, community conversations, a marketplace and more, Zimfest is the largest annual gathering in North America of students, teachers, performers, and fans of Zimbabwean music.
