Community Directory

We are a Tribe of approximately 2,000 members, located in our ancestral homeland in the northwest corner of Washington State. Our name comes from a place name in our language and translates to “always bracken fern roots,” which illustrates our close ties to our land and the resources that continue to give strength to our people.
To highlight, honor, educate, communicate, promote and celebrate Nordic culture and traditions, ancestral, modern and contemporary and to Provide value and serve members by developing and making available and accessible Nordic cultural and educational programming that is rich, authentic and forward looking.
The Center operates three facilities: a research library, an active artifact collection pertaining to Clallam County, and the historic Lincoln School which is currently being restored. We connect the future, through the present, with the past. Since 1948, the North Olympic History Center (formerly Clallam County Historical Society), has been dedicated to keeping the history of the North Olympic Peninsula alive.
North Sound ACH exists to create a just and inclusive culture and the necessary conditions for all community members to thrive. We work alongside partners in Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties, and with the 8 tribes in our region.
The Northwest Accordion Society brings together people “for the love of the accordion”. We publish a quarterly magazine, award scholarships and produce accordion events including Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration and Day of the Accordion.
