On an island amid towering spruce and hemlock, Sitka National Historical Park preserves the site of a battle between invading Russian traders and indigenous Kiks.ádi Tlingit. Totem poles from Tlingit and Haida areas line the park’s scenic coastal trail, and the restored Russian Bishop’s House is a rare reminder of Russia’s colonial legacy in North America.
Sitkans Against Family Violence (SAFV) is a nonprofit organization that provides temporary shelter and empowerment-based safety and trauma-informed advocacy services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, while promoting a community of nonviolence and respect.
The Community Center Staff is committed to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our entire Twana Community. Our Mission is to build healthier families and a stronger community through programs and events related to Culture, Traditions, Education, Fitness, Recreation, Celebration, and Ceremonies. Through our Journeys we will strive for tribal unity, and we will always encourage positive living and community involvement.
We are a 15 acre vegetable, herb, fruit and flower farm! We grow intensively on 2 acres and sell through farmers markets, stores and to restaurants and our CSA! We grow everything using only organic, sustainable and regenerative methods. The environment is important to us so we do everything we can to keep it natural!
