A 501c3 non-profit that partners with public and private entities to build and support the arts in Spokane, WA.
The Spokane City/County Historic Preservation Office and the Spokane Historic Landmarks Commission are local government programs that share responsibility for the stewardship of historic and architecturally significant properties within the City of Spokane and unincorporated areas of Spokane County.
Spokane Hindu Temple & Cultural Center (SHTCC) previously known as Spokane Hindu Society (SHS) started as a special interest group in May 2016 to focus on the ultimate goal of Hindu temple and a community center in Spokane. Monthly gatherings were held every 4th Sunday with varied religious contents and focused kids activities to help the younger generation understand and relate to the roots of Hindu religion and culture through use of animation, painting, craft, clay modelling and Q&A session. Families signed up to host the monthly meet and sponsored the rental fee for the facility. Later during an auspicious occasion of Diwali Festival in November 2018, few community members came together to formalise the process and work towards creating a more established forum where educational, cultural and spiritual activities can be conducted year round bringing the community together- an opportunity to stay connected to the roots and facilitate community’s growth.
The Human Rights Commission advises and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding issues related to human rights and unjust discrimination and the implementation of programs consistent with the needs of all residents of the City of Spokane.
The Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF) is a small, selective offering of world-class films. These are the very best features, documentaries and shorts from around the world that have not yet been commercially released for wide distribution or on virtual platforms.
