Building Changes pushes for racial equity and change across systems to better serve people experiencing homelessness in Washington. Our Vision: Communities thrive when people have safe and stable housing and can equitably access and use services.
Building Power for Communities of Color is dedicated to collective and cross-cultural political action for racial justice in Oregon. We strive to bring forward the voices of Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color in our lawmaking and electoral processes through policy advocacy, lobbying, and electoral activities.
BCHCS organizes traditional annual events such as a Christmas celebration, the Zlaten Orfei talent show in March, and the picnic at Lake Sammamish to celebrate Bulgarian Culture and Literacy Day in May. The Center organizes concerts, workshops, and visits of local and guest musicians, artists, and writers from the US and Bulgaria.

The Burke Museum was founded in 1885 by the Young Naturalists, a group of curious teenagers inspired by seeing Seattle transform before their eyes. For 130 years, the Museum has built upon this legacy, collecting objects that help us understand how the Northwest has grown and changed.
