The Burns Paiute Reservation is located in rural eastern Oregon. The Burns Paiute Tribe is primarily comprised of the descendants of the Wadatika Band of Northern Paiutes. The traditional homelands of the Burns Paiute include 5250 square miles of land in central-southeastern Oregon, Northern Nevada, northwestern California and western Idaho. The Burns Paiute still maintain aboriginal title to much of our aboriginal territory. The Tribe currently has 402 enrolled members of which 142 people call the Reservation their home. We are a relatively “young” community with over 50% of our population being under the age of 18.
We’re building a more equitable future for all Washingtonians through services and advocacy that enable people to live healthier, more prosperous lives. The vision that guides us is of a strong and vibrant community, where all people have access to the basic human needs and opportunities that support their health, well-being and prosperity and that enable them to attain their full potential. In short, equity for all.
Caixa is a musical group based in Seattle. We strive to preserve the classic Afro-Brazilian samba heritage. Our live shows feature sambas, bossa novas, boleros, tangos, Portuguese fados, as well as other European and middle-eastern styles of music.
Calavera Collective is a group of friends that want share their passion for their culture and also encourage others to preserve and value the different ways of cultural expression in their neighborhood.
The Camas Foundation aims to promote wellness for the Kalispel people and its neighbors. We want to improve the health—physical, mental, spiritual and social—of our Tribe and the communities in which we live.
Camas Logue is a multidisciplinary artist who belongs to the Klamath, Modoc, and Northern Paiute tribes. Logue is a weaver, carver, fine woodworker, painter, illustrator, printmaker, and musician whose work creates meaningful connections with land while confronting past and present colonial ramifications, utilizing Indigenous knowledge bases, and imagining ways of healing and building better futures for Indigenous communities in the 21st-century culture.
