AFRICAN AMERICANS REACH AND TEACH HEALTH (AARTH) is a non-religious 501c3 faith-based capacity building nonprofit organization, established to respond to HIV/AIDS and other major health issues affecting people of African descent. AARTH Ministry was established in September 2002 to help bridge the gap in health inequities by providing social/behavioral health education and training capacity building services to faith, health and social service institutions that serve people of African descent.

The African-American Writers’ Alliance, a diverse and dynamic collective of Seattle-area writers of African descent, provides an informal and supportive forum for new and published writers. We help one another polish our skills, provide peer review, and create opportunities for public readings and other media venues. Ultimately the group encourages members to publish individually and collectively. Our stories—triumphs, tragedies, and whatever is within and between the two—are the history of African Americans. We must tell our stories in our words and encourage others to do the same.

It’s the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), a year-long achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among ​African-American high school students.

The Alaska Black Chamber of Commerce is designed to assist new and existing black businesses operating in ALL AREAS of the state of Alaska by building strong business and community relationships, accessing existing and new opportunities, and cultivating a culture of dialogue and progress.

Amontaine Aurore is a playwright, actor and performance artist. Having been drawn to creative expression from a young age, she is grateful for an evolving artistic path from which to explore her mind, create worlds and investigate the complexities of human nature. As an actress, she has performed on stages and sets in Seattle, Montana, Los Angeles and New York, and is the winner of a national acting competition sponsored by Inspirational Productions.
