We come alongside local Coast Salish tribes to ensure that we are co-stewarding the resources with our sisters and brothers who are indigenous on these lands and offer up our solidarity in supporting sovereignty of Washington Tribes.
This is a [Facebook] group open to ALL Islanders that live in WA State. Please post any islander events/concerts/fundraisers/etc that are going on in WA. We will allow islander owned small businesses to promote and offer their services/products. We are hoping that this group will allow members to grow relationships within the island community. Please feel free to invite your friends and family to join the group.
We at Pasefika Presence Magazine believe that the Pacific is home to some of the most powerful, compelling storytellers in the world. However, there are not always many accessible avenues or platforms for us to share those stories. Our mission is to provide a space for voices of the Pacific to share their stories through the publication of their writing and art. Through our publication process, we also aim to provide mentorship to storytellers who are seeking it. We at Pasefika Presence believe our stories can move mountains. We believe our stories can shift power structures. We believe our stories can save lives. And that’s why we feel it’s our duty to share them.
