The Oregon & SW Washington chapter of Families with Children from China (FCC) provides information, support, and activities for adoptive families and those interested in adopting from China. We are dedicated to promoting awareness of Chinese culture, and fostering ties between our children and their heritage. It is the first art college in the Northwest that teaches Chinese dance. The main campus is currently located in a beautiful environment and convenient location.
HSD was created by the Washington State Legislature in 2007 as the first community preservation and development authority in the state to respond to impacts from ongoing construction of major public facilities, public works, and capital projects in both neighborhoods. It is governed by a board of directors with representation from a broad range of stakeholders from both neighborhoods- business interests, residents, arts organizations, non-profits, history and culture and local government.
Hong Kong Business Association of Washington, or “HKBAW” is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization established by a group of community-minded leaders who have a common background of upbringings from Hong Kong. HKAW aim to serve by engaging in both business and social activities to enrich people’s lives with the similar interests while increasing awareness of contemporary issues that arise in Hong Kong and China.
Jiemei Lin is an artist born in Hangzhou, China, currently living and working in the Inland Northwest, Washington State. Lin works with both digital media and traditional media to create paintings, murals, and illustrations. Her works frequently take on themes of individual and cultural identity with a particular emphasis on design and color. Lin’s mission as Illustrator is to represent and communicate with all audiences from underrepresented groups in her own visual language. As a public artist, Lin has been designing and executing large-scale public murals in both the pacific and inland Northwest. These murals function like vignettes or moments of stories, inviting the viewer into the scene in order to imagine possible narratives. Lin has extensive experience in the fields of design, and illustration, and has also exhibited my own paintings and prints.
