ECS envisions a vibrant and active Ethiopian Community in the Puget Sound area. Our aim is to preserve our rich Ethiopian heritage and to ensure that all members are actively involved and share mutual respect.
Horn of Africa Services is a nonprofit that serves the East African immigrant and refugee community in Seattle. We serve individuals and families from Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, and neighboring countries that are living in the Greater Seattle area. Our services include social services, educational assistance, youth programs, and economic empowerment to address the needs of the community.
Oromia Freedom Media (OFM) is a non-profit media organization founded on January 1, 2021, in Seattle, Washington, USA. We are a large group of Oromos who are dedicated to serving our community here in the Seattle area and around the world.
Plate of Nations, the signature event of the MLK Business Association, was designed to collectively promote independently-owned restaurants in the MLK community. Immigrants from around the world have settled in the Rainier Valley and started businesses that provide cultural favorites for ethnic communities looking for a taste of home. Those restaurant owners are excited to welcome other customers to join in their traditions.
