Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo was established in 2003 in Nampa, Idaho. Since then, the group has been committed to providing authentic Mexican folkloric dance education while sharing their time and talents through dance in Idaho. Executive Director, Monique N. Michel is the owner, creator and director of Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo.
Today, the SCI network represents more than 2,500 communities with some 137 countries around the world. Bellevue joined this effort in 1969 when the city of Yao, Japan, became its first Sister City and the Bellevue Sister Cities Association was officially established! In 2019 Bellevue Sister Cities Association will celebrate it’s 50th anniversary as an organization and it’s 50th anniversary of being a Sister City to Yao, Japan!
The Bellingham Sister Cities Association is a community based organization providing opportunities for local residents to develop relationships and build a sense of community with the people of the world. We seek to promote intercultural understandings, economic and tourism ties, and world peace. This is accomplished through cultural and athletic exchanges, educational programs, and community events.
Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) was formed in 1972. As a result of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), BSNC became the regional Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) for the Bering Strait region. The Bering Strait region encompasses the majority of the Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound. This is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the state. Three distinct Native languages are spoken: Siberian Yupik, Central Yup’ik, and Iñupiaq.
