Gender

The Seattle Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Commission advises the Mayor, City Council and City departments about issues of concern affecting the LGBTQ community. The Commission recommends policies and legislation, brings together LGBTQ communities with the larger Seattle community through long-range projects, and ensures City departments fairly and equitably address issues affecting and involving Seattle’s LGBTQ communities as individuals and as a protected class afforded accessibility and inclusion to the services of the City of Seattle.
We are dedicated to creating a safe space within the Seattle University School of Law where the unique experiences, opinions, challenges and successes of womxn of color are shared, discussed, and developed. We are a collective of individuals who identify as womxn of color, and womxn of color allies. We are open to all people who are ready to listen and engage in an open and honest dialogue about race, and gender in the law.
The Seattle Women’s Steel Pan Project gives women and girls the opportunity to learn how to play and perform Caribbean steel drums and is dedicated to creating a space for women and girls in music through arts education.

Seven Star Women’s Kung Fu provides martial arts training to individuals who identify as women (age 13+), and non-binary/genderfluid folks comfortable training in an all women environment.
Sisters In Common, (SIC), is a non-profit community based organization. We provide services that reduce the Social Determinates of Health disparities of the adults, children, and families in our communities. We work to empower our clients to resolve their personal, and situation disturbances in ways that accomplish quality and effective outcomes.
