The study of French and Italian language and culture is more important than ever. Italy and France are core members of the European Union and important players in the global economy. French is spoken daily by an estimated 220 million native speakers worldwide and is an official language in 29 countries across five continents. Italian ranks sixth among all languages studied in the US, while French ranks second. Both languages open up many doors to students interested in international careers.
Welcome to the Global Business Center (GBC) at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. Our mission is to develop global business expertise by hosting and sponsoring outstanding international education initiatives. As home to one of only 15 federally-funded Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the GBC works in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education to contribute to the international understanding and competitiveness. The Middle East Center is a comprehensive National Resource Center (NRC) funded by the United States Department of Education. It is the oldest, continuously funded National Resource Center at the University of Washington. The Center also serves as the conduit for partnerships beyond the University that enhance and strengthen Americans’ understanding of the Middle East.
The Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center of the University of Washington is part of The Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity. The Kelly ECC has a wealth of resources and opportunities available to students including student advising, organizational development, personal growth, and referrals to different departments and programs.
Special Collections at the University of Washington is the Libraries’ major resource for rare and archival materials covering a broad range of topics, formats, and periods.
The Stroum Center for Jewish Studies promotes the study of Jewish histories, cultures, societies, ideas, languages, and religion and integrates insights from these fields into broader scholarly and public conversations.
