Choroloco is an acoustic trio of Seattle musicians brought together by their shared love of Brazilian music. The name Choroloco reflects their enthusiasm and love for choro, a highly melodic and rhythmic form of Brazilian popular music that originated in early 1900’s Rio de Janeiro.
Cierra Sisters was founded by Bridgette Hempstead shortly after her own diagnosis. It is a breast cancer survivor and support organization. The name is rooted in African origins; “Cierra” meaning “knowing”, reminding us that knowledge is in fact power.
Clan Donnachaidh Pacific Northwest Branch was founded over 55 years ago to allow Reids, Reeds, Robertsons, Duncans, McConnachie, Donnachie and others to communicate.
The Clan Gordon Pipe Band was formed In 1955 when a group of Scottish immigrants and Americans pooled their experience, and, with the sponsorship of Clan Gordon, formed the Clan Gordon Pipe Band in Tacoma, Washington. We are now a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit. The first Pipe Major was Johnnie Montgomery, father of longtime member, Jack Montgomery. Even though Clan Gordon is no longer our sponsor, we retain our original name. We are successful in our primary purpose: to bring the music of the highland bagpipe to the Pacific Northwest. We are now recruiting new pipers and drummers! We have a teaching program for those interested in learning our music. Our fee is waived if you stick around and join our band
