La Guelaguetza, is an annual indigenous cultural event. The celebration centers on traditional dancing and includes parades complete with indigenous walking bands, food, and statewide artisanal crafts such as pre colonization-style textiles.
With Guru’s grace and God’s blessing, the Guru Nanak Sikh Organization (GNSO) is delighted to share an excellent news with the Sangat that the “Sikh Gurdwara” of Tri-Cities has been established here; a significant and historic event for all. The Tri-Cities regional area Sangat has been anxiously wishing and waiting for this historic moment to happen; it indeed has happened and our wish has been fulfilled. We now have our own permanent place for worship, religious education, and spiritual awakening to improve our lives as taught by Gurbani.
Gurudwara Sikh Centre of Seattle (G.S.C.S) is one of the main Gurudwaras in the state of Washington. We are a non-profit, non political charitable organization which promotes the philosophy of unity, equality, humanity and universalism.
The Gurudwara Singh Sabha of Washington in Renton, opened in 1993. It grew from a small wood-frame structure to now a 23,000 square foot building in 1997 and now serving approx. 50,000 Sikhs in the area. It serves as one of the main Gurudwaras in Washington State.
The purpose of Haida Canoe Revitalization Group (HCRG) is to enhance people’s lives through the process of making and using indigenous Haida style canoes. This organization is intended to facilitate this revitalization by seeking funding for all things pertaining to Haida canoe culture. This includes, but is not limited to, information gathering and sharing as well as the creation and use of Haida canoes.
The Haley Prendergast School of Irish Dance (HPID) was established in 1996. With over 100 students throughout the Puget Sound, HPID focuses on teaching the traditional skills, technique, and rhythms of Irish Dance. Along with the dancing instruction, we enthusiastically instill in our students a sense of Ireland’s rich history and tradition. Our mission is to help every dancer achieve their goals in dance in a positive, safe, supportive & inclusive environment.
