For the past 20 years, Living Voices has been harnessing the power of theatre to highlight and inspire social change, encourage learning, honor diversity and build community. Living Voices offers a creative and personal approach towards exploring complex issues and understanding their significance for today’s youth. Living Voices has presented nearly 50,000 shows since 1992, reaching millions of audience members nationwide.

Living Voices, winner of the 2017 Governor’s Arts and Heritage Award for Education, uses theatre and film in a unique and personal approach to exploring the complex issues of social justice through important periods in history, and understanding their relevance today. Using historical perspectives based on real people and events, Living Voices combines live performance with archival film footage and photographs, blended with audio and presented in synchronization with a solo actor. Audiences get a chance to experience the world during a significant time in history through this dynamic experience
