Unity in the Community was launched in 1994 to showcase Spokane’s diversity and to bring the entire community together based on respect, trust and collaboration. It is about putting into action a “community building mindset” based on inclusion, equity, and valuing our community asset – human capital.Unity in the Community is in its 25th year of existence. It is the biggest multi-cultural event in the Inland Northwest, involving over 30 generous Corporate Sponsors, 100 or so volunteers, over 150 vendors and multi-talented entertainers. Last year, Unity in the Community 2014 drew over 14,000 people to Riverfront Park in Spokane Washington. A major part of last year’s Unity in the Community was the giveaways of over $5,000 worth of school supplies. Unity in the Community is the Inland Northwest showcase for diversity.

Unity is a statement that represents “We are all in this together.” We as a community should never strive to restrict our resources, create boundaries by neighborhoods or engage in actions that do not strengthen partnership or collaboration among diverse communities where possible.
