Want to add yourself or a group to the EchoX community listing?
Community resource listings will grow organically as you and others are added! If you’re involved with community work related to EchoX themes – ethnic cultural heritage and social action – click ‘Sign Up’ in the upper right corner and add your own page to the Directory for free!

After clicking ‘Sign Up’ you will be taken to a form to fill out to create your account. Little Saigon is the social, economic, and cultural hub of the Vietnamese community in the Puget Sound region. In the 40 years since the first group of Vietnamese businesses took root in this area, Little Saigon has become a vibrant and vital part of the Vietnamese community as well as the Chinatown International District.

Friends of Little Saigon was established in 2011, at the start of massive redevelopment in Little Saigon. Our mission is to preserve and enhance Little Saigon’s cultural, economic, and historic vitality.

La Union Studio is an interdisciplinary collaboratory & design consultancy that engages the complexity of contemporary society through a blend & balance of architectural design, interior design, and cultural placemaking. We inherently employ ruthless optimism and diligent rigor, dedicated to a conviction that architecture can awaken people, enrich communities and inspire creativity. We reflect the cultural narratives of our clients and their community both in the design process and in the delivery of service. Our process is rooted in both the digital and the analog, with a belief in an equitable methodology that is simultaneously collaborative and iterative, and we recognize that architecture is accomplished by people and for people. We are as nimble as we are steadfast, as ardent as we are resolute, and we embrace a diversity of perspectives throughout the design process to refine the delivery of our projects. Above all, we strive to speak the language of architecture to all people.

In 2006 I co-founded Pinoy Words Expressed Kultura Arts with a friend—Maria Batayola. Our objective was to introduce the public to Filipino American writers, and we quickly discovered a number of Filipinos producing poetry, literature, and plays. This led us to launch our first reading at the Pagdiriwang Festival. Since then, writers such as Oliver de la Paz, Rick Barot, Geronimo Tagatac, Peter Bacho, Tess Uriza Holthe, Marianne Villaneuva, Toni Bajado, Oscar Penaranda, Donna Miscolta, Ben Gonio, Rebecca Mabanglo-Mayor, and Angela Martinez Dy have been featured.
