Darrington, WA The Sauk-Suiattle Indian people lived under the gaze of Whitehorse Mountain for many generations. We lived as hunters, Gatherers and fishermen in the region of Sauk Prairie near the present-day town of Darrington, Washington.

Seattle, WA Horn of Africa Services is a nonprofit that serves the East African immigrant and refugee community in Seattle. We serve individuals and families from Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, and neighboring countries that are living in the Greater Seattle area. Our services include social services, educational assistance, youth programs, and economic empowerment to address the needs of the community.

Seattle, WA In 2009, a small group of tabla students, teachers, musicians and tabla enthusiasts came together with the idea of creating a learning community in Seattle. In the Spring of 2010 we launched our website, held our first workshops, tabla performance and master class at the University of Washington in Seattle. The majority of our activities, are organized and produced entirely through volunteer hours and other donations. Since 2010, STI has provided thousands of participants with over 25,000 hours of educational music programming.

Olympia, WA The Nisqually people have lived in the watershed for thousands of years. According to legend, the Squalli-absch (ancestors of the modern Nisqually Indian Tribe), came north from the Great Basin, crossed the Cascade Mountain Range and erected their first village in a basin now known as Skate Creek, just outside the Nisqually River Watershed's southern boundary. Later, a major village would be located near the Mashel River.
The Nisqually have always been a fishing people. The salmon has not only been the mainstay of their diet, but the foundation of their culture as well. The Nisqually Tribe is the prime steward of the Nisqually River fisheries resources, and operate two fish hatcheries: one on Clear Creek and one on Kalama Creek.

Mount Vernon, WA Mount Vernon School District Mariachi & Folklorico is the biggest Mariachi Program in western Washington with over 100 students. We believe that Mariachi music will live forever in our community through our performances. MV Mariachi has performed at dozens of events and festivals all over Washington State. Mount Vernon School District recently hired Director Ramon Rivera who has expanded the program to include two Folklorico Classes and four high school Mariachi Classes. We are excited to see how our program continues to expand!

Seattle, WA “Sonia Porras Dance Academy” inició sus actividades en la ciudad de Seattle, estado de Washington, en enero de 1994, bajo la dirección de la señora Sonia Porras de Niño de Guzmán, Pentacampeona Nacional-Mundial de Marinera y Profesora de danzas Peruanas con muchos años de experiencia, trayectoria artística y cultural a nivel mundial. Durante todos estos años, la Academia y su grupo de Danzas han desarrollado un trabajo artístico valiosísimo al mostrar con mucho orgullo el arte y la cultura de nuestro querido país.
